Few little facts about Camden
Camden is also known as Camden Town. It is well known for its market, liberal attitude and associations with popular culture. Since the 1960's, the Round House Theatre and music venue has been a center of alternative culture, and letter associated with Punk and Goth sub cultures.
Camden is well known for its markets which are a major tourist attraction at weekends, selling goods of al types including fashion, life style, books, food, junk, antiques and more bizarre items. A number of retail and food chain outlets have replaced independent shops driven out by high rents and redevelopment.
Camden features several times in Hanif Kureishi's novel "The Black Album". The film "Bride and Prejudice" shows scenes of Camden Town by the canal, showing typical Barge and tourists.
The Mike Leigh film "Happy-Go-Lucky (2008)" takes place largely in Camden Town.
